Edison, NJ – Team Colavita|Bianchi’s sprint sensation Erica Allar has secured the top spot in the individual classification of the National Crit Calendar (NCC). After the 5th stop on the NCC tour Allar leads with 324 points, followed by ISCorp Cycling’s Samantha Schneider at 252 points and United Healthcare’s Hannah Barnes at 240 points. Allar secured a top ten finish this past weekend in Winston Salem, NC among some of the worlds top racers on a challenging course and big international field of 130 riders.
Team Colavita|Bianchi will have a split squad this weekend for two very important races on the schedule. The team will be divided between the Philadelphia International Cycling Classic, a UCI Road World Cup race in Philadelphia, PA and the 6th stop on the NCC calendar, The Manhattan Beach Grand Prix, in Manhattan Beach, CA. Erica Allar will look to defend her lead in the NCC at Manhattan Beach along with Morgan Brown. The remaining Colavita|Bianchi squad, consisting of Jessica Cutler, Whitney Schultz, Katie Donovan, and Mary Zider will line up with the worlds best bike racers on Sunday afternoon and race 115K in downtown Philadelphia. The United States has not hosted a World Cup event since 2001. The Philly International Cycling Classic will start and finish on the famous Manayunk Wall. Katie Donovan and Mary Zider will look for opportunities to finish well with the support of Schultz and Cutler, as they’ve done in previous years at this one day event.
Live streaming will be announced before the event! Be sure to follow @teamcolavita on twitter for updates!
