Fayetteville, AR– Team Colavita | Bianchi wrapped up their first stage race of the season this past weekend at the Joe Martin Stage Race in Fayetteville, AR (JMSR), while in it’s 38th year, debuted this year as the highly touted UCI 2.2 classification, which brought in some of the top talent in the women’s peloton, making for a very large and deep field of riders. Each stage Colavita | Bianchi was actively present in breaks trying to animate the race and go for the stage wins. Unfortunately, the field was unwilling to allow a break to stick, and each effort was nullified by the peloton. However, each member of the team raced hard and demonstrated selfless teamwork and resilience throughout each stage. The team will take this experience with them as they refocus their efforts back to the their main goal for the season of winning the National Criterium Calendar (NCC).
The Dana Point Grand Prix, in Dana Point, CA is the next stop and will be the 3rd race on the NCC calendar. Mary Zider, Morgan Brown, Whitney Schultz, and Jessica Cutler will look to deliver the team’s sprinter Erica Allar to the top step of the podium.
